- The ₹50 Taj Mahal entry fee covers only the gardens and outer platform; entering the main mausoleum (the cenotaph chamber beneath the central dome) requires a separate ₹200 ticket purchased at the gate — budget ₹250 per Indian-national visitor for a complete visit.
- The Taj Mahal is closed every Friday; moonlight tickets (400 persons per night, five nights per month around the full moon: full-moon night ± 2 days) are issued only 24 hours in advance, in person, at the ASI Agra Circle office, 22 Mall Road, Agra Cantt (open 10 am–6 pm, booking closes by 10 am on the viewing day) — there is no online booking, so clients must be physically in Agra the day before, and night viewing is also suspended throughout all of Ramzan.
- The only verified ASI ticketing platforms are asi.payumoney.com and asiagracircle.in; the domain asi.payuindia.com is unverified and a potential phishing site — check every booking link before sharing it with clients.

Getting there, permits & day trips
By air — Nearest major hub is Delhi IGI (DEL), 210 km. Agra's Kheria Airport (AGR) has seasonal IndiGo/Air India flights from Delhi (~40 min) but schedule is thin — reconfirm before selling. Most clients fly into Delhi then connect by rail or road.
By rail — Gatimaan Express (Hazrat Nizamuddin → Agra Cantt): 1 h 40 min — fastest and most reliable. Shatabdi from New Delhi station: ~2 h. From Jaipur: 3.5–4 h. From Mumbai: 22+ h via Rajdhani (overnight). Book on IRCTC well ahead for Gatimaan in peak season.
By road — Delhi to Agra: 210 km via Yamuna Expressway (6-lane toll road), 3–3.5 h by car — book a driver not a taxi app for luggage comfort. Jaipur to Agra: 240 km via NH-21, 4–4.5 h. Fatehpur Sikri: 40 km, 45 min — self-drive or hire.

Permits & entry — No inner-line or protected-area permits are required for Indian nationals visiting Agra. ASI entry fees (Indian nationals): Taj Mahal ₹50 (gardens and outer platform) plus a mandatory ₹200 mausoleum surcharge totalling ₹250 for a complete visit; Agra Fort ₹50 on most days, ₹40 on Fridays; Fatehpur Sikri ₹40 (some sources quote ₹50 — reconfirm before quoting). Timed-entry e-tickets for daytime visits are available at asi.payumoney.com or asiagracircle.in (also linked from tajmahal.gov.in); the Taj Mahal is closed every Friday. Moonlight viewing runs on five nights per month — the full-moon night plus two nights before and two after — capped at 400 persons per night in eight 30-minute batches of 50, restricted to the outer platform only. Night-viewing tickets are issued in person only, 24 hours in advance, at the ASI Agra Circle office, 22 Mall Road, Agra Cantt (open 10 am–6 pm; booking closes by 10 am on the viewing day) — there is no online booking channel. Night viewing is suspended every Friday and throughout the entire month of Ramzan.
